What are the uses of stainless steel U-tube?
The stainless steel U-tube is mainly used for:
1. Stainless steel U-tube is a drying device in chemistry and a connector in physics
2. Stainless steel U-tube can be used to dry gas and collect low boiling point liquid. Put desiccant into stainless steel U-shaped tube to dry the gas. In addition put white anhydrous CuSO4 powder into stainless steel U-shaped tube to test whether there is water in the gas. The anhydrous copper sulfate is unstable and easy to absorb water thus forming a stable copper sulfate pentahydrate CuSO4.5H2O which is blue. It can be proved that the gas contains water through color change The reaction is rapid and sensitive. Put a wider beaker under the U-shaped tube. Fill the beaker with ice water mixture or ice salt to cool the steam of some low boiling liquid so as to liquefy it and collect it. Therefore the U-shaped tube can be used for cooling to collect some low boiling liquid such as SO3 NO2 c2h5oc2h5 etc
